| Nature takes importance up here in the hills and we have some fascinating walks through native sub-tropical rain forests, some planted forests and generally dramatic natural vistas. No trip through these hills would be complete without a ride on the historic and now world heritage, Steam-engined Nilgiri Mountain Railway as it makes it's way through dense forests, old tea plantations and on a railway line that defies engineering. To fully understand a place we believe it's essential to observe people. We take you through the local farmers market in Ooty and thereon to a tribal museum to gain an insight into the indigenous tribal tradition of wild honey harvesting. |  | ||
